]]>“I'm sure I'm going to be sleeping with my - with at least one eye open for awhile," is what Sharon Bente promised ABC following the night she found an eight-foot-long alligator in her Bradenton, Florida swimming pool last Thursday morning.
Ms. Bente explained that she heard what she thought was pool furniture being thrown into her pool around 4:00 am. When she investigated, she found a storm of a different kind: a gator thrashing around in the pool. Bente’s first thought, “Can I get back to the door without it seeing me or realizing I'm bait?”
Fortunately, she did.
She immediately called authorities who quickly trapped and removed the screen-door busting pool party crasher.
"It was quite an evening," Bente said.
