Unarmed Montana Man Wins Battle With Bear

Ready, Aim, Fire!
“When an unarmed Montana man was confronted by a large black bear trying to claw its way into his camper vent last week, he had to think fast. Grabbing a can of aerosol bug spray and a lighter, he created an improvised—but quite effective—flame-thrower, blasting the bruin in the face and causing it to flee.”

That’s quick thinking. I’m not sure that, under those conditions, I would have been able to think that clearly. I’ve met a black bear or two in the wild over my lifetime, but never under those circumstances. Everyone I’ve seen has been hightailing it the other way.
The problem here in NC is that fact that the black bears can get so large. The largest one on record at over 900lbs came from SE NC.
